About
Delta Tau Delta Gamma Eta was established at the George Washington University since November of 2008. We are an International Fraternity based on the values of Truth, Faith, Power and Courage. Since our founding we have participated in a multitude of philanthropy events raising money and awareness for a number of organizations anywhere from Shriner’s Hospital International, The Ronald MacDonald House Foundation and the Service of Sight Foundation. We have also participated in many campus wide charity events such as Relay for Life to raise cancer awareness around the world.
Our national mission statement, Committed to Lives of Excellence, is something that the men of Gamma Eta at GW are dedicated to. The members of Delta Tau Delta Gamma Eta are some of the best men on GW’s campus. They are prominent members in a number of student organizations such as The Student Association, Colonial Cabinet, STAR, International Affairs Society, Green GW, and of course the College Democrats and College Republicans. Despite the number of student organizations our members represent, we also have members that are part of ROTC, Crew and Swim teams, Intermural Sports and various honors and pre-professional Greek Organizations. Our members represent some of GW’s leading men in athletics, social groups, academics and community service.
Nationally our fraternity is recognized as a leading fraternity in the IFC (Inter-Fraternity Council), and the NIC (Northern Inter-Fraternal Council). Our nationally sponsored philanthropy is the Bleed Purple Foundation, which is a foundation dedicated to raise awareness for college students that are living with cancer. Each year the foundation awards grants to college students suffering from all types of cancer in the form of medical bills and tuition reliefs to help ease the stress that comes with cancer and financing an education. We also have a wide range of alumni that range from actors such as Will Farrell, Matthew McConaughey and David Schwimmer, to various alumni that are leaders in their field whether it is politics, business or sports. Some of these alumni include former Vice President of The United States Henry Wallace, CEO of General Motors Richard Wagoner, former pitcher of The New York Yankees Mike Mussina and ESPN Vice President Vince Doria. Since our founding in 1858 at Bethany College, Delts have been recognized nationally and internationally for their leadership qualities and their commitment to living a life of excellence and prosperity.
In addition to our national philanthropy, we also sponsor many nationally recognized leadership programs such as our Leadership Academy, Adopt-a-School program and DTAA (Delts Talking About Alcohol). These programs have received national acclaim for their leadership development and practice. These programs and our mission statement is what separates us from other fraternities here on campus. If you are a leader on campus socially, athletically or interested in giving back to the community, then Delta Tau Delta is the fraternity for you. We are a diverse group of guys that are looking for all types of men on campus and want you to become a part of this great fraternity!
